Basic Apple Pie

General: Sometimes also known as Apple Crumble.

Ingredients:

125g butter

60ml sugar

1 egg

250ml cake flour

250ml corn flour

5ml baking powder

1tin of pie apples


Method:

Cream butter and sugar.

Add the beaten egg and all dry ingredients. [No extra liquid required.] If batter is too soft, sift in more flour.

Press 2/3 of the pastry into a sandwich tin or oven proof dish, fill with apples [spoon a little sugar over the apples - if desired].

Grate the rest of pastry over the apples. Bake in a preheated oven of 180 degrees Celsius until light brown.

Serve with cream or vanilla ice-cream.
